Hi friends! Gina and I are offering a POP-UP SONG CIRCLE this Saturday, December 16th at Pilgrimage of the Heart Yoga (East studio) at 3301 Adams Ave in Normal Heights. There will be an optional Maya Moon cacao add-on for $7. Come warm your hearts and voices with us!
We’ll begin at 4:00 PM with a creative Song/Writing Workshop. This is a wonderful opportunity for new and emerging bodies of work—whether songs, poems, short stories, comedy routines, dance, or visual art—to develop and evolve in a safe, supportive space. All forms of original expression are celebrated, and all levels of experience! Each artist who wishes to participate will share a piece, then receive constructive feedback and/or raw impressions from the group at the end. The artist can integrate the feedback and share the piece a second time if desired. First come, first serve for signups. Even if you don’t have anything to share this time around, your witnessing presence and reflections are highly valuable.
At 5:30 PM, the Song Circle will begin. The intention is for simple songs that we can all sing along with (mantras, heart songs, medicine songs, etc) as well as improvised co-creations. Bring your instruments! Anyone who wishes to share will have the opportunity to do so, subject to time availability (and we can run a little overtime if needed).
Afterwards, we can hang and socialize a bit, or go out for some food!
We’ll be inviting a few of our favorite local musicians to join us for the feedback session and the jam, so please do spread the word. We look forward to a magical evening!
Suggested donation: $11-$44. Venmo @ivan-durst to secure your spot. If you’d like cacao, please add $7 to your payment, and make sure to add “cacao” in the description. Door sign-ups also welcome, though space will be limited.
